Fairy Tales : A List of Stories
I'm copying this from Wikipedia, so that you can have an interactive list, right here on the blog. If that doesn't work, this is the direct link to the post.
As authors, we often want to "re-work" a classic fairytale. Things like Peter Pan can't be used for legal reasons - see here - but there are so many more that can be used. (Always check the legal options, before re-working a classic.)
So, here's a pretty cool list of fairy tales:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fairy tales are stories that range from those originating in folk lore to more modern stories defined as literary fairy tales. A modern definition of the fairy tale, as provided by Jens Tismar's monologue in German, is a story that differs "from an oral folk tale"; written by "a single identifiable author"; can be characterised as "simple and anonymous"; and exists in a mutable and difficult to define genre with a close relationship to folktales.
