“What about you? You’re
not coming with me?” Cameron asked
hesitantly, still struggling to breathe. “Damian, come with me! Save the
heroics for another day.” But suddenly, he realized what he was up to. Damian
was going to sacrifice himself to Jeremy and his clan members to save him, but
he was the next potential leader of the united clans. He was the most important
person to them all now. They couldn’t risk him getting hurt before the clan
meetings. That is, if they were still going ahead with it after the way Jeremy
and his boys had acted. If he was sent by his clan elders or the master, then
it meant they had no intention of attending the clan meetings. Obviously, they
had other ideas on their agenda.
“You’re wounded and
need tended to. I’ll be along soon,” Damian lied.
voices grew closer.
Jeremy ordered. “Find him before he talks to anyone else! Don’t let him tell
hesitated, not wanting to go, until Damian pushed him forward. “Go!” Damian shouted.
It only took him a second, then he bolted in
the opposite direction of the voices advancing on them, heading for the Croiset
clan to warn them of what was coming … but it was already there.

This is a review of Star (Starland Vamp Series) by Theresa Oliver that was written by Rebecca Boucher and posted on her blog "My Life With Books and Boys"! Please check out the newly revamped and re-edited Star today! Thanks, Rebecca!
Abigail Starland, better known as Star, is a kick-ass CIA agent. But what's different about her is she's a shape shifter vamp-from the Revolutionary War era-in a covert new branch of the agency. According to the CIA, she doesn't exist. She fears nothing, that is, until she's assigned as bodyguard to Zachary Davis, the 18-year-old teenage son of her boss. They fall in love and the trouble begins. She soon discovers that "The Others," rogue, uncontrollable vamps, are after him. But who's behind it? Star soon learns she's bitten off more than she can chew when she discovers that it's a vamp from her past. "Star" will keep you guessing at every vamp turn of the page! Alright, I know your all thinking another vampire book. You guys know I have a weakness for vampires. At first glance Star follows a familiar pattern. Vampires with respect for human life, they hunt animals, they have venom, and they posses all the super human powers of speed and mind control. But keep on with it, because that where the similarities end. In this book the kick ass vampire lead is female. That right there sets the tone for what this book covers. Not only is star a covert CIA agent, she has been around since the time of the Revolutionary War. So you get great flashback historical scenes, and lots of action. She is conflicted at times, and her love and tenderness for Zac from the get go sets the stage for an authentic love story. You also have to pay attention. Who you might think has Star's back and is on her side, gets thrown off course. Enemy's become friends and friends turn on you. Star is faced with discovering not only who leads "The Others", but who is betraying her. Can Zac and Star make it as a couple? The questions are many in this fast paced book. Star proves that you can keep a vampire book fresh and original by combining two of my favorite themes, historical fiction and romance. You can't go wrong adding this one to your romance reads for the month. I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series.
